This past weekend, Lil and I spent time just strolling around downtown Charleston. We played at the fountain a bit, looked out over the harbor and spoiled ourselves with some delicious gelato from Belgian Gelato at Waterfront Park. Lil had the chocolate mint and I enjoyed the salted caramel. Sooo stinking good, I almost felt guilty that Bill was missing out.
We also visited mac & murphy while out and about. This adorable little shop is chalk full of beautiful paper goods. If I ever owned my own physical business, outside of the house, I think it would be a small combination of coffee/tea, beautifully designed paper goods, and books. Three of my passions all wrapped into one. *swoon*
Originally the American Girl shop was on our list of stops. Lilie Jo had some birthday money she was ready to spend on an American Doll. However, she found the most adorable handcrafted stuffed animals by Finkelstein Center at mac & murphy. The little sloth stole her heart and the American Doll was instantly forgotten. Fluffy the Sloth is more Lilie Jo anyway, if you ask me. The sweet little thing has even managed to seal a spot in bed with her next to LJ the teddy bear.
We strolled up and down cobble stone streets, peeked into windows and browsed an art gallery together for the first time. Lil’s choice. Lil couldn’t get enough of the “secret pass throughs.” Oh, how my heart still beams at the whole day’s experience.
