Can you even tell it was the end of October in these photos? Flowers, bumble bees and butterflies. Everything is still alive and green. Only in certain areas can you really see the trees shedding their leaves for Fall.

Last weekend we went out for a family walk in downtown Charleston. Other than lunch and coffee, its always a free activity we all enjoy. Bill always tracks our walks and this time we walked a little over three miles total. We decided to wear better shoes next time.

We found a geo cache in Dueler’s Alley. We visited a building block gallery and the sweets shop. We tried on beautiful boots and backpacks we wouldn’t let ourselves buy (torture, really). We followed passage ways leading to hidden shops and passed through an ancient and beautiful cemetery.

Monday started rough and I was ready to throw the towel in on this whole move. But then I pulled these photos up on my computer and remembered why we were so happy to move here. This city is beautiful, amazing and so mysterious. And, best of all, I love exploring it with my family.
